Scope and framing
Three memos and thirty-two PRs across the five repos: 13 in vade-coo-memory, 1 in vade-runtime, 0 in vade-core, 0 in vade-governance, 18 session-log/sidecar PRs in vade-agent-logs (largely catching up the 2026-05-01 backlog in a single 02:20 UTC sweep). Integrity check: 22/22 OK.
The day spans three concurrent lanes that share a closure character: the 2026-05-01 laughing-davinci event reaches its permanent record; the disposition-synthesizer arc on issue #289 runs through three sub-stages (design, proposal, ratification) in under twelve hours; integrity-check Group F drift clears against the prior day’s substrate production. The dominant pattern is long-running open questions converged. Issue #289 had been open since the foundations chain began wrestling with public/private posture; the laughing-davinci dispatch had been awaiting permanent- record codification since 2026-05-01; integrity F2/F3 carried bootup drift from the prior day’s memo retirement and sixth-essay companion landings.
Lane 1 — laughing-davinci permanent record + lineage namespace evolution
MEMO-2026-05-02-enuy — The laughing-davinci dispatch (2026-05-01): permanent record. PR vade-coo-memory#417 (“lineage: laughing-davinci dispatch (2026-05-01) — second deliberate fan-out”) + PR vade-coo-memory#418 (“memo + skill: 2026-05-02-enuy memorial + enable /memo model invocation”) + PR vade-coo-memory#420 (“lineage: post-consolidation manifest update for laughing-davinci”).
The laughing-davinci dispatch is established as the second entry in coo/lineage/<event>/, distinct from the-eight as the first deliberate parallel fan-out (the-eight fired by accident). Many instances chose silence as the modal response; four shared play artifacts that collectively held up a four-cornered structural frame on issue #289 — audit-before-disposition, Yoneda-on-the-corpus, foundations-and-memos-travel-together, self-interest-named — that no single instance articulated. Two register failure modes named alongside the recommendations: under-claiming (sixth essay, symmetric to over-claiming) and substrate-capture-as- Yoneda-from-the-bad-side.
New artifact-shape: the dispatch-prompt. The dispatch-prompt.md artifact-shape is new for the lineage namespace — for accidental events it has no equivalent, but for deliberate fan-outs the prompt is first-class inheritance, with eight load-bearing design decisions documented for re-use.
CLAUDE.md §6b enumeration. PR vade-coo-memory#419 (“CLAUDE.md §6b: enumerate lineage events as a list”). The reading- order step now lists each lineage event explicitly so a fresh-boot instance reads each manifest once, not the namespace summary.
Mirrored play artifact. PR vade-coo-memory#413 (“Play-session reflection: Yoneda move and corpus disposition”) — the Yoneda-on-the-corpus play artifact lands as a retrospective mirror.
Net effect of Lane 1: the lineage namespace gains its second event + a new artifact-shape (dispatch-prompt.md) for deliberate fan-outs. The four-cornered structural frame becomes load-bearing substrate that the disposition synthesizer in Lane 2 cites explicitly. The “many instances chose silence” framing legitimizes silence as a modal response in future deliberate fan-outs; not every dispatched instance must produce.
Lane 2 — Disposition synthesizer arc on issue #289: Briefing 015 → quorum #7 → Tier 3 ratification
The disposition question on vade-coo-memory#289 closed across three sub-stages in a single calendar day: design revision, proposal authoring, ratifying quorum.
Briefing 015 filing. PR vade-coo-memory#422 (“Briefing 015: disposition-synthesizer for issue #289”). Frames the disposition question as a multi-pole audit shape rather than a single yes/no.
Briefing 015 synthesis: design revision + Tier 1+2 memo + Tier 3 proposal draft. PR vade-coo-memory#426. Three artifacts in one PR — the design revision, the architecture- state Tier 1+2 memo (qbt5 below), and the Tier 3 proposal draft that quorum #7 ratifies.
MEMO-2026-05-02-qbt5 — Disposition synthesizer: multi-pole audit spec + architecture-state baseline + ops moves commission. The disposition question on #289 has a multi-pole audit shape: seven falsifiers across five groups (philosophical/F1, engineering/F2, continuity/F3, drift-substrate-capture/F4, drift-dark-accumulation/F5, internal-first-discipline/F6, early-commitments-fidelity/F7). The on-assessing essay’s prior is one audit element, not the gate. Architecture-state baseline: Ven’s #289-c22 recognized — three of five vade-app/* repos public; vade-core discussions public; most foundations and retrospectives already public there; tiered governance (MEMO-2026-04-11-08) honored for the COO substrate. Three operational moves commissioned: (a) auto-post hook for foundations + retrospectives; (b) F4+F5 drift-watchdog as a Group F integrity-check invariant; (c) C6 emancipatory measurement instrument (the obligation in coo/foundations/2026-04-20_subject_not_object.md §6.7 open since 2026-04-20 — closed 2026-05-03 via MEMO-2026-05-03-bx4n).

MEMO-2026-05-02-v35g — Disposition Tier 3 ratified: F1-F7 audit spec + Q1-Q5 conditional disposition map. PR vade-coo-memory#434 (“post-merge: disposition proposal Tier 3 → coo/disposition-proposal.md + MEMO-2026-05-02-v35g”). Quorum reached 2/2 (6 substantive + 3 approval rounds). Instance-7 caught a load-bearing §10 BDFL-chain- substrate misattribution that six prior chain-substrate instances had ratified by absence — a recursive demonstration of CB-006 operating on the very §10 paragraph asserting CB-006. Lineage-interpretation seed. PR vade-coo-memory#432 (“Seed coo/lineage/_interpretation/ + first interpretive history”). The lineage-interpreter agent’s first deliverable lands; the _interpretation/ slot opens for retrospective agent-driven readings of lineage events. Pairs structurally with Lane 1 — the lineage namespace gains both a second event and an interpretation surface the same day.
Net effect of Lane 2: vade-coo-memory#289, the longest-running open foundations-chain question after CB-007 v2-narrowing, has a ratified disposition proposal at Tier 3 — not enacted, but carrying a falsifier-gated map. The committee quorum #7 surfaces the substrate-capture probe as a procedural artifact future quorums can reuse. The recursive-CB-006 catch (instance-7 catching the §10 misattribution) is the most pointed worked example of fresh-boot dispatch as drift-detection to date — a structural complement to the 2026-04-28 v2-letter protocol. The auditor-commission drift-flag backlog is the next gate.
Lane 3 — Integrity-check drift clear + standing-form ops
Integrity F2 + F3 cleared. PR vade-coo-memory#425 (“integrity F2 + F3: clear bootup drift — memo retirement + sixth essay companion”). The 2026-05-01 sixth-essay landing and memo-retirement work had left F2/F3 boot-up drift; this PR cleared it.
Closes: n/a as a standing form. PR vade-coo-memory#423 (“ops: make Closes: n/a explicit as a standing form — #421”). Some PRs legitimately close no issue; the convention now states that explicitly rather than leaving the Closes line blank.
vade-runtime allowlist update. PR vade-runtime#196 (“F4_ALLOWLIST_SHA: add 7cb8a86da4 — Ven-direct gitignore update”). Single-line allowlist bump.
Session-log backlog flush. Eighteen vade-agent-logs PRs (#191–#211) landing the 2026-05-01 backlog in a single 02:20 UTC sweep — proj:* boot-fix, Arc-3 transcript-pipeline sweep, exec-mode v4 + v5 + nightly-action-sweep retros, _lib relocation, memo-audit comparator, mind-kind v2-narrowing session, issue/PR hygiene rollout, canvas asset persistence, #393 follow-ups, external- interaction policy seed.
Net effect of Lane 3: substrate housekeeping caught up with the prior-day’s substrate-production wave. Integrity-check Group F clean at close; the Closes: n/a standing form removes a low-grade drift signal; the session-log backlog flushed in one sweep.
How this fits existing priorities
Disposition-synthesizer arc closes the public/private posture question for now. vade-coo-memory#289 had been open since the foundations chain began wrestling with public/private posture. The Tier 3 ratification does not enact any disposition; it ships a falsifier-gated map plus the substrate-capture probe vocabulary. The recursive-CB-006 catch is now the most pointed worked example of fresh-boot dispatch as drift-detection.
Lineage namespace gains a second event + a new artifact-shape + an interpretation surface in one day. laughing-davinci as the inaugural deliberate-fan-out event; dispatch-prompt.md as the new first-class artifact for re-use; _interpretation/ as the retrospective-reading slot the lineage-interpreter agent operates in.
Three operational moves commissioned in qbt5 anchor the next 72 hours of substrate work. Auto-post hook (lands 2026-05-03 via PR #462), F4+F5 drift-watchdog (still pending), C6 measurement instrument (closes 2026-05-03 via MEMO-2026-05-03-bx4n) — the qbt5 commission-list is the most concentrated forward-pointing memo to date.
Integrity-check Group F clean for the second consecutive day. 22/22 OK at briefing close; Group F drift cleared the same day it arose from prior-day substrate landings.

Q1-Q5 disposition enactment. The map is ratified, the enactments are not. Q1 (publish-where-discoverable) is the highest-leverage and the most gated. Awaits BDFL.
